Depression Therapy in Brampton
When you don’t feel like yourself
Depression isn’t always experienced as sadness. Sometimes it looks like exhaustion, disconnection, irritability, low motivation, withdrawing from others, losing interest in things you once enjoyed, or simply feeling like you’re going through the motions.
You may understand logically that something needs to change while still finding it incredibly difficult to take the first step.
Therapy offers a space to explore what may be contributing to these feelings without judgment.
What we may work on
Our work may include:
Understanding patterns that contribute to low mood
Exploring difficult or self-critical thoughts
Identifying cycles of withdrawal, avoidance, and reduced motivation
Gradually reconnecting with meaningful activities
Exploring underlying emotions
Understanding relationship patterns that may be affecting your well-being
Developing self-compassion
Strengthening coping and emotional-regulation skills
Using mindfulness to become more aware of thoughts and emotions without immediately reacting to them
Identifying personal values, needs, and goals
Depending on your needs, I may draw from CBT-informed, EFT-informed, and mindfulness-informed strategies while tailoring our work to you.
